Grief is one of those things; you don't know, until you know, and you really wished you didn't know, but now you do.  Grief can bring you to your knees, turn your entire life upside down and you quickly realize that there is nowhere to run or hide from your pain.  It can be unbearable, overwhelming, deeply painful and very dark & lonely.  Sometimes we are not prepared or equipped to deal with grief and the rollercoaster ride that comes with it.  Yet, we all know it's going to happen at some point in our lives, the question is how do we cope and learn to live with it?  How do we keep moving forward and not only survive grief, but allow it to help us grow and eventually thrive?

When we first lose a loved one, everything starts to unravel, you feel out of control and with it comes many questions and a lot of emotions; it's a LOT to process.  You haven't only lost your loved one, but yourself and everything you thought you knew was and was to come.  It's so important to have support, to have someone to talk to and to learn some skills and tools in how to process your emotions within your body and mind and learn how to calm your nervous system.   It's a gradual process, as you begin to accept, and continue to integrate yourself into your new reality, not just immediately after it happens, but in the long run too.  We can't control what happens in our outside world, but we can learn how to control how we respond and cultivate more lasting peace and compassion from within.

 

My own sudden loss, two years ago has brought me here to you.  It took so much from me.  So many plans, dreams and versions of myself that have withered away along the process, but newer versions of myself have had no choice but to keep emerging as well.  I have had so much support along the way, learned so much about myself and have acquired so many tools and skills to deal with my mental, emotional and physical states, that I feel so grateful, despite the price that I have paid everyday since.  It remains to be the most humbling and powerful awakening experience of my life.   It has also opened up many new possibilities and opportunities for me and my new life, and I know this is only the beginning.  

 

From the moment my life turned upside down I was shown a whole new world, an opening to the spiritual realm and I have been diving down that rabbit hole ever since.   I've had so many signs, syncronicities, visions, dreams, messages, miracles, support, teachers and divine interventions  along the way that it has left me no choice, but to let go of all my doubts and acknowledge it all.  It has provided me so much comfort & support, many answers, and it has helped me heal in more ways that I could ever imagine.  It has been a transformation from the inside out, of my entire understanding and trust of life, death and myself.

Although this has been a very spiritual journey for me, I am still very much human and I have had to, not only find ways to cope, survive and keep going, but also allow the light back into my heart and life little by little.  I have had to accept that the journey of grief doesn't ever end, it's not something we get over, it's something we learn to live with and carry with us, whether you dive down the spiritual rabbit hole or not.  The good news is that weight that we carry gets lighter as time goes on, especially when we feel our way through the journey.  

I know I needed a world of support when my world came crashing down, a steady rock that I could trust, to be my guiding light when everything was dark.  Now that my world is again so much lighter and brighter, I am here to be that light for you if you feel you need it.
